What You Really Get:

All we can say is awwwwwwe. In our opinion, this throw-it-on-a-plate approach to presentation is appalling. Why the green in the sauce? why the wilting food? Why the over-cooked tortilla? Did we do something to deserve this?

Me thinks there is a shrimp missing here. We expect more from the Outback Steakhouse!

All things considered this one from the Outback Steakhouse could be the winner in terms of coming the closest to mating the advertised image.

About This Site

This site provides consumers with comparative photos of the advertised images of fast food and restaurant food with those of the product(s) actually served to a customer so that they can critically review them. We cover everything from Wendy's hamburgers to Chili's ribs, Arby's sandwiches, and pasta from the Olive Garden.

It is said that we first eat with our eyes. Needless to say, that is why so many promotional photos are carefully crafted to elicit a mouthwatering reaction. Ah, but too often, what you really get bares little resemblance to those advertising images (painstakingly choreographed in a photo studio far from any grill or kitchen).

The site is also intended to serve as a resource and tool for consumer information and for use in marketing and advertising classes in high schools and colleges so as to generate useful discussion about the role of advertising and marketing prepared foods.
